Library/Learning Resource System
Our Library/Learning Resource System helps students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to secure employment and advance in their careers. Two libraries provide texts and other materials for reference and for loan. At computer workstations, students access electronic resources, research and journal databases, and the Internet. Library staff is available for assistance. Students can also access many of these online resources remotely and beyond school hours.

Where is the library?
The Court Reporting/Human Services (CR/HS) Library is located on the second floor of the Atrium Building in Room A205. The Building Trades (BT) Library is located on the first floor adjacent to the Atrium in Rooms T101 and T104.
What are the library hours?
Library hours are posted outside the Building Trades and Court Reporting/Human Services libraries.
How can I find materials?
Library materials are physically arranged in the library according to the Dewey Decimal System. Find materials by searching in the online Library Catalog by title, author, subject or keyword or by using the advanced search options.
How can I borrow materials?
In order to borrow materials from the library you need to be a faculty member or currently enrolled student. Students are strongly encouraged to provide a valid email address so that the library has an efficient way of contacting you. Students have been assigned an Orleans Library barcode number which is formed by adding “25078000” to the front of your Orleans Student ID number. It is not necessary to know your barcode but if you want to check your library account online to see what books you have out and perform other functions, you will need it.
Students may check out books for two weeks at a time and may have up to five items out at a time; fines may apply or graduation clearance withheld until compensation is made for damaged or lost items.
To use many of our online resources you should have or obtain a library card from your home public library.
How do I access online resources such as reference materials and journals?
You can access many online resources through ProQuest and the PA POWER LIBRARY, which includes the EbscoHost MasterFile Premier periodical database. In time we plan to add other digital resources for Orleans students and faculty.
